Get Layered is a trading name of Yuniq Technologies Pty Ltd (ABN 69 688 993 053) (“we”, “us”, “our”). We’re committed to protecting your privacy in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and store it, and how you can access, correct or ask us to delete it.
1. What Personal Information We Collect
Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:
- Your name, email address, phone number, billing and delivery address;
- Order details, including the files, materials, colours and settings you choose using our upload & quote tool;
- Payment information (processed by our payment provider — see section 4, we don’t store your full card details ourselves);
- Communications you send us, such as emails, contact form submissions or phone enquiries; and
- Technical information about your visit to our website, such as your IP address, browser type and pages viewed, generally collected via cookies (see section 7).
We don’t seek to collect sensitive information (such as health information). If you provide us with sensitive information — for example, incidentally in a support enquiry — we’ll only use it for the purpose you provided it, in line with the APPs.
2. How We Collect Personal Information
We generally collect personal information directly from you — when you place an order, use our upload & quote tool, contact us, or browse our website. Occasionally we may collect information from a third party on your behalf, such as a payment or shipping provider confirming a transaction or delivery.
3. Why We Collect, Hold and Use Your Information
We use your personal information to:
- Process and fulfil your order, including producing custom 3D printed items to your specifications;
- Communicate with you about your order, including quotes, confirmations and delivery updates;
- Process payments and prevent fraud;
- Provide customer service, and respond to warranty, repair or Australian Consumer Law claims;
- Meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations; and
- With your consent, send you marketing communications, which you can opt out of at any time.
4. Who We Share Your Information With
We share personal information only where necessary to run our business and fulfil your order, including with:
- Payment processors (such as Stripe or PayPal), to securely process your payment;
- Postmark, to deliver transactional emails such as order confirmations;
- Australia Post and other delivery providers, to ship your order;
- Our order management and manufacturing systems (including Odoo), used internally to process and track your order; and
- Professional advisers, or regulators and law enforcement, where required or authorised by law.
We don’t sell your personal information to third parties.
5. Overseas Disclosure
Some of the third-party services we use (for example, payment processing, email delivery and website security providers) may store or process information outside Australia, including in the United States. Where this occurs, we take reasonable steps to ensure your information continues to be handled in a manner consistent with the APPs.
6. Storage and Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect the personal information we hold from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we review our practices on an ongoing basis.
7. How Long We Keep Your Information
We generally retain personal information relating to your order for around 5 years from the date of your order. We do this to:
- allow us to respond to any warranty, repair or Australian Consumer Law claim relating to your order;
- meet our record-keeping obligations under Australian tax law (the ATO generally requires businesses to keep records for at least 5 years); and
- maintain accurate business and accounting records.
After this period, we securely delete or de-identify your personal information, unless we’re required or permitted by law to keep it for longer.
8. Accessing, Correcting or Deleting Your Information
You can write to us at any time to ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or to ask us to correct it if it’s inaccurate, out of date, incomplete or misleading. We’ll respond within a reasonable time.
You can also ask us to delete your personal information. We’ll action your request wherever we reasonably can, but please keep the following in mind:
- We may need to retain some information despite your request where we’re required to by law — see section 7 above.
- If you ask us to delete information relating to a past order before any applicable warranty period has ended, this may limit or prevent our ability to verify your purchase or provide a repair, replacement or other remedy under that warranty or your Australian Consumer Law rights, since we may no longer hold the records needed to do so. If your request would have this effect, we’ll let you know before proceeding so you can decide whether you’d still like us to go ahead.
9. Cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies to operate core website functions (such as your shopping cart and checkout) and to understand how visitors use our website. You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings, though some parts of our website may not work properly if you do.
10. Marketing Communications
We’ll only send you marketing communications if you’ve opted in, or as otherwise permitted by law. You can unsubscribe or opt out at any time using the link in any marketing email, or by contacting us directly.
11. Children’s Privacy
Our website and services are intended for adults. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children.
12. Complaints
If you have a concern about how we’ve handled your personal information, please contact us using the details below and we’ll investigate and respond within a reasonable time. If you’re not satisfied with our response, you can lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or the law. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised date.
